Tea in the Garden Counseling LLC
Imagine sitting together in a peaceful garden, a warm cup of tea in your hands, with nowhere you need to rush off to. There is room to breathe, to be heard, to laugh, to grieve, and to talk about the things that may be difficult to say anywhere else.

About Tea in the Garden Counseling LLC
Tea in the Garden Counseling LLC was inspired by my grandmother, Evelyn Teagarden. She taught me the importance of compassion, personal growth, equality, and being present in the moment—values that continue to shape the way I approach counseling today.
Because of her, I imagine therapy as sitting together in a peaceful garden, sharing a warm cup of tea, and having honest, meaningful conversations. While our sessions may look a little different, I hope they offer that same sense of warmth, comfort, and connection.
My goal is to create a space where you feel safe to be yourself and explore your thoughts, emotions, experiences, and identity without judgment. I believe everyone deserves compassionate, affirming, and culturally humble support that honors who they are and where they come from.
At Tea in the Garden, you don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. My hope is that you feel seen, heard, and valued as we work together to navigate life’s challenges, discover what matters most to you, and create meaningful change.

Bethany Dalton, LCMHC
Hello! I’m Bethany. I’m originally from West Virginia, and I now call Vermont home. My journey into counseling began at West Virginia University, where I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling in 2020.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and provide virtual counseling to clients in Vermont and North Carolina. I feel grateful to do work that allows me to connect with people from different backgrounds and support them through the many experiences and transitions that life can bring.
Outside of my professional role, I’m someone who values connection, curiosity, and finding meaning in the everyday moments of life. I bring that same genuine curiosity and warmth into my work with clients. I believe therapy is most meaningful when you feel comfortable being your whole self, and I strive to create a space where you can feel safe, understood, and accepted.

Techniques and Approaches
My approach is centered on helping you better understand yourself, your experiences, and what matters most to you. Together, we might explore questions like: What brings meaning and purpose to your life? How have your past experiences shaped who you are today? What values are important to you? And how have your culture, relationships, and the expectations around you influenced your experiences?
We may use mindfulness, creative expression, writing, and reflection to gently explore patterns, relationships, and experiences that may still be affecting you. Most importantly, we’ll work together to find the tools and approaches that feel comfortable, meaningful, and helpful to you.
